About the course
This 3-day course is aimed to provide a deep understanding of the subject matter of Cruise Development.
This course will help participants to master the full dimension of Cruise development. In particular the course will enable participants to fully understand the Cruise business from a port/destination perspective and prepare them with all necessary tools in order to be able to prepare them to meet with the cruise executives and increase traffic for their port and destination.

About the Course Director
Ioannis Bras, started his career in the U.K., after his degree as a Structural Engineer and Project Manager (MSc), from the Universities of Manchester and UMIST. Through different positions of responsibility, like PFI projects and Risk Management in the closure of nuclear reactors, he gained extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of Project and risk management.
After his return to Greece in 2002, he worked in the development of commercial & real estate projects, Project Management Services and Development of new projects.
From 2010 until 2016 he was the head of Heraklion Port Authority S.A. and he was also the Vice-chairman of Hellenic Ports Association. His prime focus was the strategic planning and development of the port and destination, emphasizing on the Cruise Business and the promotion of relationships with all stakeholders. Results of these efforts, among other things, are the eighteen national and international awards with latest on the Tourism Awards 2017 for his Innovative business model ‘’Five Senses’’ and the three World Guinness Records that Heraklion Port Authority S.A. has received.
Today he has founded the company Five Senses Consulting & Development which specializes in developing cruise destinations to the 5-Senses business model that develops appropriate actions and gives the highest measurable results for visitor satisfaction through the activation of Agricultural and Cultural parameters of the destination into tourism. The implementation of ‘‘5-Senses” is acting as an agent for innovation in organization and IT through the creation of a series of small projects that will augment the guest experience in all five senses.
Mr. Bras is also the Project Manager responsible for the creation of 26 hydroplane bases for the Region of South Aegean and business developing manager to a number of Startup companies.
