The Suez Canal was closed twice. Once when Israel/UK/France attacked Egypt in 1956, and a second time when Israel attacked Egypt and the rest of its neighbours in 1967. Although the 1956/57 closure (between November 1956 and just before May 1957) was much shorter, its effect was somehow more dramatic.
